For Governor Orders Agencies to Treat Park as One Region

Governor Orders Agencies to Treat Park as One Region

The Governor of NY issues an executive order requiring major State agencies to change their regional structure to treat the Blue Line as a one region. This applies to DEC, DOT and DOH at least. Every Governor of NYS has tried to leave some kind a legacy improvement to the Park and this was accomplished in that spirit. "If the Park is truly a jewel of NY, it should be treated that way", said the press release announcing the change.

No change in State agency boundaries is coming

The State has no interest in adjusting Agency regional boundaries to the Blue Line.  It is just one of those things that the Adirondacks just doesn’t have enough clout to push.  So while this remains interesting to talk about, it is not worth a lot of time unless a re-organization of all of State government gets rolling - and that will not be because of the Adirondacks.
