New Waterflea in Lake Champlain

The new bug is the fishhook waterflea.  It is related to the spiny waterflea which has spread to 12 interior lakes but was not detected in Lake Champlain in 2017.

ROOST Begins Workshop to Inform Hikers

ROOST has conducted its first workshop for first line tourism workers about how to properly advise hikers.  Hotels workers and retail shop people are the first to attend.  The idea is to make it easy for visitors to get good advice from people they are likely to encounter.

I87 Exit 18 Welcome Center Opens

The new welcome center is just south of the Park.  It will have a boat washing station, vending machines with local food products, and other amenities.
