Environmental and Entrepreneurial Studies Widespread
Most high schools in the Park adopt two common programs – one in environmental studies and the other in entrepreneurial studies. In many cases there are collaborations with regional colleges.

The Lake George Association and the Queensbury Parks and Recreation teamed up to offer a educational and fun program for children where they explore the wildlife and functions of wetlands. Students from grades three through eight will be lead through two wetlands trails on two separate days.

The Lake George Association was awarded a $5,000 grant from the Charles R. Wood Foundation to use towards their youth education programs. The funds will be used to purchase equipment for their in-school programs and the Floating Classroom.

The Cornell Cooperative Extension is offering the Adirondack Guide Series to kids ages 10 to 13 this summer where students learn primitive wilderness and camping skills.

Juniors and seniors in local high schools can now earn college credits through Paul Smith's College's Adirondack Field Ecology Program where they learn wilderness ecology and biodiversity conservation through hands on activities in the park.
