Domestic Oil Production Set to Exceed Imports

For the first time since the mid-1990's the US is expect to produce more oil than it imports, due to new shale oil extraction techniques.  Also, fuel efficiency is decreasing demand.  More use of natural gas also lowers demand for oil in some cases.  It does not look like US gas prices should rise significantly in the next 5 to 10 years.

In 2011 the avg was 30.2mpg. By 2016 it will hit 35.5 and by 2025, 54.5mpg
