Park Wide Tourism Portal Operational

An online information system provides conditions on trails (ski, hiking, biking, snowmobile, x-country, etc.), downhill skiing, campsite availability, overcrowding, etc. It is used by visitors and government departments at all levels. The information is accurate and constantly updated and it is widely publicized and used by the public. Visitors want to know the conditions before they leave home. The info helps spread out visitors across the Park. The site also contains info on all events in the Park.

Air B&B has more Rooms in the Adks than Traditional Lodging

AirBNB grew some 66% in the region last year.  It now has more rooms on offer than all the traditional lodging the Park.  It's turning into an important source of local income while at the same time reducing the availability of housing.

The North Country Chamber of Commerce's new tourism website for Clinton County provides easy to access information on the Adirondack Coast and activities in the region. The new website goadirondack.com is bilingual in both French and English.

State Expands Adirondack Marketing with New Recreational Mobile App & Website

The new web portal is now an app for android and iphones.  It makes the application location based.  It is called "Discover the Adirondack Park". The website is DiscoverAdkPark.com. Both are part of the State's efforts to expand marketing of the Adirondack Park

The 46 high peaks now have digital trail guide.  Download any one or the whole set to your phone. GPS tracks, photos, descriptions and turn-by-turn guidance included.

ARTC Get's $75k for Paddling Events

The group running the new portal (Adk Regional Tourism Council) has a $75,000 grant to promote paddling with events on the newly acquired Finch lands.

New ADK Visitor Web Portal Online Now

A year long effort, the portal was funded by a 2012 REDC grant. A mobile app is coming and the database is not complete but take a look and you can get a feel for it.  The regional project was run by AATV.

The AATV portal project is getting extra funds to improve the user experience and adds a marketing budget to the effort.
